Town Square held our annual Pumpkin Day on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at McCarren Park in Brooklyn. More than 1,000 people came to join the event. Kids coming to the park picked out their own pumpkins, decorated them and took them home. The kids and their parents participated in a varity of arts & crafts activities, and enjoyed live music with the Grand Street Community Band, creepy, crawly things brought by the Brooklyn Children's Museum and yummy treats.
Recognition: Town Square thanks our Pumpkin Day partners: the Brooklyn Children's Museum and Grand Street Community Band. We also thank our local supporters: Angel Bakery, Boro Recycling, The Garden, Peter Pan Donuts, Red Jacket Orchard Farms, & Starbucks Coffee. And we make special mention of our young volunteers from Brooklyn Prep HS: Dulce Fernandez, Kanisha DelRosario, and Shatobia Gadson as well as Yarilys Perez, a visiting teen from Queens who jumped right in.
